The task. Your task is to provide a report to your client peak industry body with an initial report (scoping study) that concludes with recommendations on one or more detained investigations to follow. Your client has also asked that illustrative examples be included to support the proposals you will be advancing. The requirements that follow should be addressed in your case study report:  (i) an outline of existing  production system/s including technologies used in the industry of your choice ie the baseline ‘condition’ of the industry; (ii) opportunities for incorporation of use of computer, modelling/decision support, sensing and information systems to foster productivity gain and competitiveness ie impact in the existing production system (iii) opportunities for change ie introduction of new or modified systems and activities in existing production systems for improved productivity and competitiveness (iv) opportunities for new industries relevant to the peak industry chosen (this would expand the portfolio of the peak industry body   (v) assessment of how computing, decision support, sensing and information technologies and other innovations could support the modified and new industries (vi) identification of needs for further in-depth investigation(vii) recommendations on what investigations should be conducted.Presentation of reportIt is expected that the report will be presented in the form of a consultant’s report and at a minimum, contain the following sections.Cover Sheet IndexExecutive SummaryTerms of Reference*Sections on:- existing production system/s and technologies used in the industry chosen- opportunities for incorporation of use of computer, modelling/decision support, sensing and information systems – opportunities for introduction of new or modified systems and activities in existing production systems- opportunities for new industries relevant to the peak industry body chosen, and how this could improve industry sustainability (which would expand the portfolio of the peak industry body)- assessment of how computing, decision support, sensing and information technologies and other innovations could support the modified and new industries- identification of needs for further in-depth investigation- recommendations on what the investigations should be conducted.
